Pretty Christmas Ornaments Using Clay Pot Crafts

The run up to Christmas is a great time to have fun making some handcrafted items and Christmas clay pot crafts are the perfect project to get you started.

Christmas clay pot crafts are extremely versatile and can be decorated or re-purposed in a number of different ways in order to create beautiful hand made gifts or pretty Christmas decorations for your own home.

One beautiful option is to create some little clay pot Christmas bell ornaments to hang on your Christmas tree. These are very easy to make and take less than half an hour to complete. That is why these particular Christmas clay pot crafts are an ideal project to work on with children.

Christmas Bells

To create your Christmas bells take a small clay flower pot and paint the entire pot, inside and out, in metallic paint.

Once dry, cut a 20 inch length of ribbon and fold it in half. Thread a bead onto the looped end and pull it approximately 3 inches along the ribbon. Tie a knot in the ribbon to secure the bead and thread the loop through the bottom of the pot from the inside.

Put a small amount of glue on the bead and secure it to the inside bottom of the pot.

You can finish the ornament by attaching a small bell onto the other end of the ribbon which should hand down just below the opening of the pot.

Santa Clay Pots

to craft your clay pot Santa you will need a 3 inch pot for the body and a 1 inch pot for the hat.

The larger pot should be painted red with a white stripe running down the center. The bottom of the small pot should also be painted red, while the rim is painted white.

Once the paint is dry, place the larger pot upside down and glue a 1 inch wooden bead onto the base to form Santa's head.

Use marker pens to draw a face. Cut a 2 inch length of white curly chenille stem and glue it onto the bead to act as the beard. The smaller pot should then be fixed on top of the bead and finished with a white pom-pom to make a hat.

These are just two of the many Christmas clay pot crafts that you can attempt, you adapt these ideas to create many things including reindeer, angels or snowmen.
