Personalized Christmas Ornaments

When I was younger, my mother brought each of her children personalized ornaments. The ornaments came from a store called McCrory's. It was similar to Woolworth's, and sold all sorts of things. It took my mother weeks in order to get just the right ornaments for each of us.
There were six children in my family, plus my mother and father. The ornaments were all silver and each was a different type. My mom chose each one based on our personal interests.
I had a book, because I was known for my love of reading and the short stories that I would write.
Each ornament was engraved with our name. They were beautiful and to this day, my mom still hangs them on the tree. When each of us have gotten married or had a baby, an ornament has been added for the new family member.
The tradition is one that we are sure to carry on for every generation that follows. Among the ornaments have been angels, skates, ballerina shoes and footballs.
My husband was the first to get an ornament with team logo on it. He got a Pittsburgh Steelers football, engraved with is name. He was elated.
