Lego Santa

The ornament is Santa in a sleigh. The entire ornament is made up of Lego's glued together. Across the back is the date "1991". This was the year I was born. My entire childhood I grew up playing and building thing with a large collection of Lego's. This fascination combined with the date of the ornament helped it rank number one on my list steadily throughout the years. Whenever we decorated the tree I made sure that my Lego sleigh got a premium spot. I always placed it directly in front and in sight. One year, as I was unpacking my box of ornaments, the Lego sleigh came up missing. Desperate, I searched all of the other Christmas boxes. No luck. Tinsel and newspaper packing was strewn everywhere. My favourite ornament was gone! I was desolate, disappointed, and disturbed. Yet luckily I had a superhero for a mother. Within days I had a new Lego sleigh hanging on the tree. It was not the same one, but I still loved it just as much. Even now that I have gotten older I still have fond memories of placing my Lego sleigh ornament on the tree first. It is something I look forward to every Christmas. |
