In Memory of. My Sister... Christmas Ornaments

This started a new tradition for me as I began putting up my own Christmas tree and wanted to make it special in memory of my sister who I had recently lost. From that year on forward, I made it a special task to search for new ornaments to put on my tree. Everywhere that I traveled, I always brought back an ornament that reminded me of my sister and this kept her memory alive. I always asked my family and friends to just give me one ornament as a gift one year which they were happy to oblige. This made my tree truly become a memory tree. As the years have gone on, my tree is full but the memories are so special as I think of each person who gave me what ornament and that one special ornament that started my tradition. The folks may have gone on but their spirit and memory are with me every Christmas when I see how beautiful my tree is and how much love is in that tree that all began with that one special Santa ornament. What is Christmas after all without Santa? Of course, Santa had a Mrs. but for some reason, it seems that she is a bit shy and likes to stay out of the limelight since I have not been able to find that special Mrs. ornament that would suit Santa. Santa will for the time-being will have to hang in his special place of honor. Maybe one of these days, she will be able to join him. |
