Hand made ornaments

It may be cliche, but my favorite Christmas Ornaments are the ones that my mother made about thirty years ago.
They were very simple, ceramic ornaments, but because they were not bought at a store it made them all that more special.
My mother made them when I was very young (around 5 years old) and always said that she made them because it was very inexpensive to make and we did not have a lot of money at the time. But they are my favorite ornaments.
I am sure it was some ceramic mold she was able to get at an arts and crafts store somewhere.
One of the ornaments is of a fireman. There is also a teddy bear and a dove. Not very typical ornaments but I suppose that also makes them rather special.
On the back of each she painted my name, or my brother's name, along with the year they were made - 1977. They still look good after all these years as well.
I read a quote recently by the late author and commentator William F. Buckley, Jr. that fits very well with this story.
He wrote, "The most beautiful part of the world is wherever you grew up."
I will expand on that to include the most beautiful Christmas Ornaments are the ones you had when you were growing up.
