Christmas Tradition from Costa Rica

by Marylyn
(Costa Rica)

The night of the 24th, we meet at the home of my parents. My mom makes a delicious dinner, and at midnight, we begin to open the gifts, many gifts and many papers and ribbons are tossed about around the room. Then we went home and opened more presents, the children play a lot.

The next day, December 25th, all my dad's family meets. We go to a farm with a pool and many green areas. We like racing games with balls, balloons, football games. We eat fruit in the morning, a delicious lunch and cake with ice cream in the afternoon.

My grandma gives to us a bag of grapes and apples (a tradition in my country Costa Rica) and a bag of chocolates.

We have a nice family day.

It is a tradition, my great-grandparents liked to seeing all the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren together on that day
