Christmas Spirit !

Ladies Tea: Celebrating Christmas Together At Church

By Wendy, Inky Trail News

This is all about getting into the Christmas spirit... sometimes, its difficult, especially when there are no kids around to force it on you.

On Thursday evening, our church had a Ladies Tea. This wasthe second year and I think it was WONDERFUL. What they do is reserve tables for groups of ladies. Then usually each person brings something... the china, the centerpiece, tablecloth, little gifts, baked goods, etc. LOTS of baked goods!

The tables are truly beautiful.. all different because the china, decor, etc come from many different households.. but all equally beautiful. Some were royal blue and silver, some traditional red/green, some were white and gold, lots of different looks, mostly pretty glitzy.

Some tables had a big bow tied on the back of each chair, or hadbeautiful ribbons running across the tablecloths, some pretty Christmas confetti tossed here and there.. so many ideas!

When everyone gets there, they passed baskets of all different types of tea, cocoa, flavored coffees, etc. so that you could select exactly what appealed to you!

They also started to call tables to the hallway that was FULL Of scrumptious desserts. You know how it is when you attend a family get together and you have several different sweets, well, this is LOTS more and so much fun! I bet there was a hundred different baked goods (and yes, there was a table of fruit and baked stuff for the diabetic ladies too.. it looked pretty good!)

Then we sat and ate, chatted, laughed and had a nice afternoon, on sweet desserts, tea, and friendship.

Later, we sang Christmas Carols and they did a skit or two... one gal read a story about how candy canes started, a teen ballet dancer did a wonderful dance to modern Christmas music... it was fun!

Anyways, bottom line... I never ever ever start shopping till after mid-December. After this Christmas Tea, I started early December, and it felt GOOD. I also started with a few decorations in my home.

YES, I have the Christmas Spirit that the Christmas Tea and Christmas Music gives to me!!

Merry Christmas!
