Christmas Eve, Santa Visits!

Every year we get all of our family and friends together at our house for a Christmas eve celebration. My kids, husband and I cook and we have everyone bring a dish. We listen to music and mingle and the kids play games joke around. We sit by the fire pit and roast marshmallows to make s'mores.
Our favorite part of the night is after desert, we have someone in the family play Santa Clause. We got my uncle the Santa suit, then he gets up on the roof with a ladder that we have set up already so no one sees it. And he makes some noise up there (we did get some bells for him to jingle around so it sounds like the reindeer) while we act like its Santa with the kids inside.
We have the kids get everything ready for him - put a chair and some cookies there and the kids even make the cookies. They get so excited and we take tons of pictures its great and they really believe its Santa Clause.
He knocks on the door and they look so surprised every year (until they're to old to believe in Santa). We let him in and its all a big act for Santa from there.
He passes out the gifts to the kids and some to the adults too. He eats the kids cookies and tells them to be good for next year. We all get pictures with Santa and joke around. It's the best memories I have of Christmas.
We have been doing this every year since 1995. My kids grew up on it and the are now teenagers but they still enjoy the activities with the rest of us. I plan on doing it until all the kids have grown.
