Grandparents will love this!
Christmas crafts for kids can be a life line for parents everywhere. When Christmas starts to draw ever closer, our kids get more excited every day.
It can become increasingly difficult for parents to keep little ones calm and entertained as they wait desperately for Santa Claus to make his annual gift delivery. However, one way to keep them entertained while still maintaining a spot of Christmas cheer is to indulge in a few Christmas crafts for kids.
Nothing says holiday spirit better than a cosy afternoon spent together at the kitchen table making some handmade Christmas gifts and ornaments. Christmas crafts for kids allow you to plan a whole afternoon of activities to keep the children busy.
Imagine having fun making some Christmas ornaments or cards with some Christmas carols on the CD player and the promise of dessert once everything is all cleared away.
Grandchildren Photo GiftOne gift grandparents love to receive is a photograph of their beloved grandchildren. So one great Christmas craft for kids to make photograph frames from old CD cases. Everyone seems to have odd CD boxes around the house and this is a great way to make use of them.
They can be decorated with a range of things found lying around the house including buttons, ribbon, scraps of wrapping paper, glitter and any other odds and ends found around the house.
First start by gluing your chosen photograph to a pretty piece of paper the same size as the inside of the CD box. You might have to "crop" your photo.. cutting it to the perfect size of the CD box, or smaller so your background papers show through like matting!
You can use decorative wrapping papers, colored computer paper, metallic Christmas gift wrap, or even tin foil! Generally this will be around 4 inches by 5 inches for most CD boxes. You may also want to leave enough to fold around the edges of the box too.
Insert the card into the back of the CD box with the hinged side at the top. Close the box and put a line of craft glue around the edge of the front of the box to form the frame. You could glue ribbon or lace around the sides too.
Stick on the decorations of your choice, and lots of glitter to make a unique Christmas themed frame.
This is just one of many different Christmas crafts for kids that you can try with little ones to keep them occupied in the days running up to Christmas.
Grandma and Grandpa will love this gift on Christmas!!
